Blade Cutting Process
What is a stamped blade?
A stamped blade is made using one process metal stamped press machine cuts out & forms the blades. Some blades are sharpened to an acute angle to ensure blade sharpness. These blades are then Advanced Stamped Blades. (Advanced Stamped Blades are used on select ConairMan products). Generally, the blades are thinner - from 0.5mm to 2mm thickness however the fixed blade does not form as strongly compared to precision ground blades & the clipper may or may not use a taper control.
What are Grinding & Lapped Blades?
Blade teeth are made under diamond powder grinding & lapping process. Sharpened to an acute angle to ensure blade sharpness. (Used on ConairMan products with Diamond Sharpened Blades). Generally, the blades are thinner - from 0.5mm to 2mm thickness & they maintain a good cutting performance.
What are Etched Blades?
Chemical etching is a process to cut out & form the teeth of the blades. Sharpened to an acute angle to ensure blade sharpness (Used on ConairMan products with Precision W-Tech Blades). Generally, the blades are thinner - from 0.5mm to 2mm thickness. They're lightweight & have less vibration with reduced friction & less oiling required. Sometimes the oil reservior is included between the fixed & moving blades & it maintains are better cutting performance.
What are Precision Ground Blades?
There is a 6-step process for Precision Ground Blades: 1. Finely ground metal process to cut out & form the basic shape of the blades. 2. Precision grind the blade surface & edging. 3. Blades are hardened. 4. Further fine grinding of the blade surface, teeth & edging. 5. Blades are polished. 6. Blades are further polished using a lapping machine for a smoother, finer & longer-lasting cutting edge. (Used on select ConairMan products). Generally, the blades are thicker - from 2mm to 5mm. They provide better cutting performance compared to other blade types. They're sharper & longer-lasting blades & maintain the best cutting performance.

A better battery that can store up to 50% more power than Ni-Cad batteries however it can also experience voltage depletion.
What is a Lithium-ion battery (Li-ion)?
The Lithium-ion is the best battery, it lasts longer & has a higher voltage than other batteries providing more power. Low self-discharge that have almost no charge loss while in storage & hold their charge for months, or even years. They are low maintenance - no periodic discharge needed & no memory issues.

Hair clipper motors
What is a Magnetic Motor?
A good motor that provides less power than a pivot motor, depending on specifications. It vibrates & can be noisy due to the blades running very fast. It's suitable for thin & dry hair. It's a traditional barber style motor & used for mains powered clippers.
What is a Pivot Motor?
A Pivot Motor is a better motor that produces at least twice the cutting power of a Magnetic Motor. It's suitable for thick & coarse hair & used for mains powered clippers.
What is a DC Direct Drive Motor?
This is the best clipper motor. It's quieter & considered more heavy duty. It's best for wet hair, thick hair & bulk hair cutting. It's a high performance motor that delivers 50% more power.
